HD Mattifying Cream Foundation is rated 3.7867 out of 5 by 225.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very greasy I have worn this foundation all week in several different ways ( with powder, setting spray, primer, alone, etc.) and while it looks amazing upon application it does not last. Within two hours my face is oily and the foundation is literally sliding off my face.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Washed out color I swatched this on my hand at Target before buying it, and it blended beautifully so I was very excited. I wanted a compact I coukd keep in my purse, mostly for the mirror, but also to touch up foundation on occasion. Even though the swatch was perfect on my hand, when I put it on my face, it makes me look ashy / ghostly. It is the right color for my skim, but it's noticeably off to me. Also, it gives me dry patches. I love the size of the compact, and the consistency of the product. I keep it in my purse for the mirror, I just can't use the foundation unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cream foundation I've tried I bought this on a whim and I am so glad that I did! This is by far the best cream foundation I've tried. It is smooth and creamy so it blends into my skin easily for a natural finish that just evens my skin out. It really needs to be set with some sort of powder to keep it in place all day but I look and feel great every time I wear this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waay too dark! Although it covers well and looks natural, the "Porcelain" is 2 or more shades too dark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very silky feel I love this foundation because it's rich and gives a warmer appearance to my skin tone. At 47, I prefer a creamier product for my skin and this foundation fits the bill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job!! I work at a TV station, so HD make up is expensive. I liked this option because it gives me similar coverage at a small price tag. I am VERY pale, and the lightest color was still dark on me...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing coverage! I bought a huge haul of every ELF foundation & this was by far my favorite!! It has amazing application & coverage paired with their Studio Stipple Brush. I've even used it as a concealer paired with other foundations. I wouldn't consider it "mattifying" at all though. It leaves me looking dewy & fresh, which I love, not matte at all! The compact is perfect with the mirror and extra compartment for a sponge, which I love. It doesn't have the staying power that I wish it did, but overall, I'm very pleased & will buy this again.. and again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this and was skeptical but I absolutely love the product. I was a bit unsure of choosing my color but the palette was true to what I normally purchase from other vendors. I'm hooked. It glides on smoothly and evenly. Can't beat the price either.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from okay.. This product is okay.. I ordered sand and let me tell you this color is oranger than orange so if you are more of a medium to light shade just go with porcelain. The product overall though was okay it does go to powder but still not the best thing that is available from elf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I got this about last summer, I would think. I needed a cheap foundation that I wouldn't mind if it got lost when I was going to Europe and I picked this up in sand. I loved it. Applies great when you blend it with a beauty blender. In the winter I've been using porcelain and sand when I get on the tan side and it's fantastic.I've got oily skin in the summer and dry in the winter, and it is a bit more difficult with my dry skin because it looks a bit flakey if I don't exfoliate properly. It sets lovely in the summer time with an HD powder and some setting spray.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it I bought this in porcelain, I have light to medium and at first it goes on a bit lighter than the other foundations I have purchased in the same color. I have combination skin, it is a bit on the heavy side at first application but as it sets, it matches my skin tone and turns from cream to matte. For acne prone skin it would be good for concealing coverage but being that it is a cream (even oil free) it might be too heavy for acne prone skin causing breakouts. I don't have a problem with it, but I do not have sensitive skin. I used the stippling brush to apply and it comes out more matte than if I used the sponge that it comes with. The sponge however, will blend it easier and won't leave you with a powdery look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL I bought this a few weeks ago and when I applied it it felt amazing. It was great full coverage but when it set and I touched my skin it felt disgusting. When I looked in the mirror after 2 hours, it looked like all of my skin was peeling off. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever put on my face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good foundation! It goes on smoothly with buildable coverage. I wish it came in more colors, but still easy enough to blend. I set with the HD powder and it lasts all day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really love this product for several reasons I have normal skin and like good coverage that doesn't look heavy and fake. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this covers and stays on all day. I find it comparable to some very expensive makeup I purchased in the past. More importantly, finding a truly neutral beige that blends with my skin and is not pink in any way, has always been a challenge for me. I tend to like something that leans more toward yellow undertones to correct some blotchy imperfections. I love the coverage, blend ability, color (sand), and at a great price. I pair this with the e.l.f. high definition concealer for dark circles and just a touch of HD powder to set. Goes on smoothly and quickly. Just thrilled. I've found my perfect foundation. Please keep making this!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for doing cream/foundation conturing This was the lightest of the foundations I got. I also got Almond and Caramel. The are very creamy. I didn't find them as mattifying as other foundations I have used. It did however wear very well. It is good on my combination skin. I wasn't sure what to think but at the affordable price I figured I would give it a try. It has been a few years since I have purchased elf products, what an improvement!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My skin feels so soft! Picked this up on a whim at my local Target, after denying myself the treat in summer, when mattifying would have been better for me. I like a dewier look in winter, but still-- I need another foundation Now, and decided to try Porcelain. I'm one of the palest palefaces, and most base colors are too orange, yellow or pink on me. This works! Has a good neutral mix of undertones. It went on nicely (very creamy, despite being oil-free) and blended well, with plenty of time to do that before it set. I think I could use this as an undereye concealer, too. Good, buildable coverage that starts at just about medium. You don't need much, it blends and spreads easily. No cracking or creasing after several hours, including standing over a pasta pot in a steamy kitchen. My face feels light, like I'm wearing nothing, butNote-- there is a thin sponge for an applicator, which worked fine dry. When one uses a sponge with liquid, it should be dampened and squeezed in a clean cloth or towel first, but I don't feel that approach would be best here-- maybe I'll try it in warmer weather though. This is an excellent value, a very good product (I needed no powder, either, though I'd use a little on my cheeks if using powder blush afterwards) and a good one for more mature skin as well as younger, but not a product for very oily skin-- too creamy by far going on, for that. I'm going to grab several more colors soon for my MUA kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good coverage, but doesn't mattify I bought this on a whim. I have oily skin and was hoping for a great mattifying cream foundation here. Unfortunately, it goes on shiny and stayed shiny on me. There was also a slight smell. The only good thing about this guy was the price, I guess. Also, the color was not right for me, but that could be my error from ordering online (wish these were in store so you could see them). Overal, not impressed. Staying with the Acne Fighting Foundation, it's amazing!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not good when I got this, I thought I would be able to apply it quickly and run out the door and have a flawless face. After wearing this product for about a half an hour my face started to get oily and greasy. Every foundation I wear does that after about 4 hours and I don't mind because it doesn't look terrible but this just made my face and skin look disgusting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've ever used!!! I absolutely love this foundation. Elf has outdone themselves with this one. Finally I have found a foundation that 100% love. I use smashbox but won't be anymore. I have oily skin and this is perfect, no shine, great coverage, and lasts all day. I will never use anything else. Please do not ever get rid of this fabulous foundation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice foundation! I included this on my order on Cyber Monday, and got two different shades (Porcelain and Sand) because I wasn't sure which would work with my skin tone (I'm in between light and medium and have cool undertones). Do beware that the Porcelain shade is actually lighter in person than shown on the website. It actually made me looked washed out alone, but I think would be a great thing to have if you happen to get a shade that was slightly to dark and need to lighten up the shade a bit. Most other foundations I've tried were either to pink or to orange. I tried Porcelain and Sand on their own, and alone neither was quite the right shade. I decided to mix the two, and voila! I had my perfect shade! I used the sponge included with the compact to put a little of both colors on my face and blended it out with the E.L.F. Studio Powder brush. I'm one that doesn't need much coverage, and this foundation went on nicely and felt like I had practically nothing on and didn't look cakey. It seems like it would be very easy to build up coverage as needed, but I can't personally attest to that as I don't need to do that. I definitely recommend this as something to try!
