I am awful with liquid eyeliner and after hearing of the ease of the triple tip pens of other brands, I wondered if my liquid liner woes would come to an end, but didn't want to pay the price for something I may not figure out and couldn't return. I tried this and love it. I can use lash-hugging dots to thicken my line, hold it flat to tightline, or angle it to create a cat eye. It works. To keep it from drying out, I store it upside down in the mug with my brushes as opposed to with my other eyeliners. I'm not a fan of the way the cap needs to be pushed hard to be replaced as I feel like I'd damgae the tip. I've already recommended this to my sister, who doesn't like to take risks with makeup and simply like a natural face with thick lashes.
the other reviewer said that this product is dry and does not produce product well my experience is the complete opposite. It produces to much product which causes just a mess. It started dripping. The moment I opened it it just would not stop exuding liquid. I had to use a tissue to soak it up assuming it was just because of shipping that caused it but every time I open it its just a mess. I haven't even been able to use it because of this. I was so disappointed too because I was hoping this would be an inexpensive dupe for another product.
I owned this for a month or so and didn't like it. Then I decided to come on here and read reviews. I realized I wasn't using it right. I looked up how to properly tightline my upper lashes and tried the product again. I was very pleased with the results! It makes your lashes look fuller and makes you look like you have eyeliner on without people actually seeing a line on your lashes. It wasn't great for my bottom lashes, but I think this was worth the price if you want a more natural look without it being obvious you have makeup on.
I love and swear by the waterproof eyeliner pen so when it stopped showing up where I usually bought it I was really bummed. Then I saw this and thought I would try it out because it was almost the same thing, right? WRONG. The black pen exploded ad soon as I opened the cap. I think the worst part is the applicator. It's too hard and hurts my eye when i try to apply the liner. I end up wiping it all off because my eye starts watering! Very disappointed in this one and I wish the retailer would go back to selling the other liner pen!
I got this because I love to try new products from elf, I think recently they are on a roll.... then there's this product. The pen tip is wayyyy too hard for my eyelid I have sensitive skin so that may be it but its unbelievably hard feels like scratching on my eyelid so I have no idea how anyone would tightline with this. Secondly the liquid is super runny I will make the thinnest line and it will run into the inner corner of my eyelid which is annoying when all my make up is done. I just think this is not a very good product.
Well for one thing,it is definitely no waterproof. It easily dripped of with H2O. You would think it not to be so good since it's cheap, but not that cheap. I only got to use this 3 times until it just dried off. And I know I closed it tightly cause this never happens to my other eyeliners or makeup. After that I thought, is this a joke?Another things is it was tricky to use and and it is sort of painful depending how you use the liner. Also it was to thin.I love elf but this one is a big NO NO. They should stop selling this.
I started using e.l.f.'s eyeliner pen in September and have loved it; when it stopped showing up at the stores near my house and this took its place, I figured I'd give it a shot and picked up two. I opened it up, got it all over my fingers, and then tried to apply. Well, the first day or two was okay. It worked similar to the other eyeliner pen, except the tip kind of made it impossible to make a thin line. Then it was like it just ran out of color. It was super dry and painful to apply. When trying to reapply, it would wipe off whatever layer I had somewhat gotten. I dampened it, stored it upside down as suggested, but nada, zip, bad product. Overall, trying to get the old ones again. Think I'll actually order from here even though its more expensive than at the store.
I have have no space under my lashline for eyeliner and my lashes can be uneven on the top. This product is great in that I can dab the three tips down into my lashline instead of just dragging a line above it. It is an ingenious design. I also have a delicate and oily eyelid. I can skip primer with this product, the liner goes on with barely any pressure and remains dark. I think this product is best for someone who wants a natural look not dramatic eyes and who may have a hard time applying traditional liner.
Bought this when I went to go get the classic liner pen from ELF at target which I loved but didn't sell anymore. Thought I would give it a try. When I got home I watched the video on how to do it and gave it a try. As soon as I opened the pen the liquid was running out. I cleaned the pen up and gave it a try. Too much product comes out to be able to do the lines within your lashes. It runs into the tear ducts causing watery eyes. It's just a HOT MESS! redo this product! it could be great!
I ordered online before even seeing any reviews. After ordering I looked it up and was very suprised by the many bad reviews. When it came I was not expecting to like it at all but to the contrary I love it. I got brown and black and I have had no problems with it. Exceeded my expectations. Can create thin lines or bold ones, depending on the angle used. Stayed put all day. What more can you ask. Not messy, not dry, not any of the complaints others have had. I will definately buy again!
The product itself I enjoyed. I used this to tightline my eyes. It was easy to apply and it stayed all day. I think the fact that it was hard worked well to ensure I can get between my lashes. The PROBLEM is that it works once or twice and then it stops working!!! The first one I used about 3x and then it stopped working. I tried to work with it a few more times and sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't. I then decided to purchase a second one hoping that I just got a dud or something. The second one was actually worse. I think I may have used it 1x and this time, no matter how much I worked with it, it wouldn't work back so that ended up in the trash. I wish it would just work b/c I actually enjoyed the product!!! ELF, please just fix the problem so I can purchase this affordable alternative!!!
First of all I got this to replace the old eyeliner pen that my store does not carry anymore. I saw this Product in place of the other so decided to try it out. It really is an inferior product than the old eyeliner pen. My pen leaks everywhere too much product just oozes out of the tip. The tip is super stiff and hard and when I apply it to my eyes the product just gets everywhere! Don't recommend it at all, the only thing elf did was raise the price and give an inferior product.
I use this product just about every day and I am in love! I have oily lids (liners nemesis) but this holds up all day and night (sleeps well too lol). The only set back is the applicator tip. It is very very stiff so you have to be careful when applying. I'm used to the felt tip liner pens and made the mistake of being a bit too rough on my eyes and had to leave it alone for a bit while my lids healed haha. Other than that, it's one of the best liners I've had in a while.
I bought this product after I couldn't find the old Elf Waterproof pen. I was very happy to find a waterproof pen eyeliner for elf but was very disappointed. I tried it for a couple of days and it smudged and one thing that the other pen never did was that it totally irritated my eyeline. It was raw and started peeling. I had to put moisturizer because it was so painfull. I would not recommend that anyone buy this. Elf please bring back the old waterproof pen!!!!
I usually use a liquid eyeliner with the brush or a gel eyeliner and brush. I have yet to find a pen eyeliner that actually has liquid in it to make a line on my eyes. I bought this is brown and black. The brown is okay, not really pigmented but that's okay bc when I use brown eyeliner it's because I don't want it to stand out. The black however, is very pigmented. Note that both have LOTS of liquid. I applied the black on my eyes and noticed that the liquid did expand much like when you write with a sharpie marker. I was able to get a good dark line out of it though without pressing too hard. I really like the pigmentation and will continue to use it. I think it just takes a bit of pratice to get the hang of it but I do like it. Last thing, do be careful opening and and putting the lid back on as some product can come off.
This is amazing for tightlining. Seriously, if you left a bad review, look up tightlining, and try it with this pen. It doesn't get any easier. With regular pencil liners it clumps in my lashes and liquid liners rarely stay, but this gets between the lashes really well. Lasts a long time too, I wouldn't say completely waterproof, but I still have the swatch on my hand from a couple days ago. It's really faint, but still there! I am going to buy it again.
Purchased this because I love the other water proof eye pen, this however is nothing like it. As soon as I opened it, it was extremely messy and got all over my hand. When I started to use it, it was actually sort of painful, the applicator is kind of harsh. It's difficult to work with as well because it gets all over the place. The only upside to this is the great pigmentation. However it does not outweigh the cons. Won't be repurchasing.
Received my orders today and tried this liner immediately. My first impression was the innovation put into this and it was really precised when I applied it on my lids and lower part. I could easily draw a winged liner like it claims. However, within the next hour when I went to the restroom the outer corner of my lower liner was smeared!! Not waterproof whatsoever! Overall I'm kind of disappointed and only recommend to apply on top lids.
The tip is stiff, and very scratchy if you're not careful with it (like I was the first time around since I didn't know). It's also not as pigmented as I would have liked, but it's alright once I figured out the best way to apply it... It lasted through a day for me, so that's not too shabby. It could be a better product, but right now, it's barely even a good one. I'll likely use one for more theatrical things, rather than everyday use.
If you are finding the liner for applying direct on lashline this is the best. I have tried a lot of them and no one could give so wonderful unusual results. This liner has three tips and it makes very convenient to place liner between lashes, apply quick very natural line between lashes. I am going to order it in black and brown again as now this is my daily must have. Please do not stop to produce it! Thank you for so wonderful liner!
I LOVE ELF. I HATE this pen. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it. Like other reviewers, I too bought this because my store stopped carrying my favorite ELF waterproof eyeliner pen, so I thought well I'll try it out. 3 prong.. not a good idea.. it's awful.. seriously awful. I do pinup style makeup and I like the cat eye wisp.. I found out right away that this pen was against me. You know what this pen reminds me of, a paint pen with 3 evil pokey prongs.. If the devil had to replace his trident, he would simply buy this... And even he would probably throw it out. Also once it goes on your face, you have to rub and rub to take it off.. Definitely takes a toll on your skin.. and I aint getting any younger ladies!!!! Bottom line... You couldn't pay me to use this, this was the worst 2 dollars I have ever spent! Its like a paid for my own foul experience.
I always buy the single tipped waterproof liquid liner and I love it. It doesn't last very long but the price is right and it last all day. I bought the triple tip because they were sold out of the other. I bought two so I would have a back up. One of them lasted for two applications then wore out and the other never delivered color. The tip was white when it came out of the box. Poor design. They need to trash this one.
I generally prefer liquid/cream eyeliners that come with a brush, but I decided to give one a shot. It goes on nicely, I have to work to get it on sometimes. My only concern is that it does run into my eyes. Thankfully it hasn't bothered my eyes too much, except for the normal watering. After blinking it does generally go away. I'll definitely continue to use it, but I am not sure if I will buy it again.
Its obvious what elf's trying to do with these. They're going to eventually stop selling the other waterproof pens in favor of these. I like these. My only issue is that they are a LITTLE bit runny at times. I've on;y applied them to my hand for swatches, but they seem a little runny. I don't know how they work on the eyes, but if they're that runny on my hand, I imagine they're worse on the eye.
I never could find an eyeliner that's long lasting and doesn't run, I end up looking like a raccoon. I really like this eyeliner because it doesn't do that. The color stays as it's true color and I don't look like a raccoon after several hours after application. However, the applicator is really scratchy and kind of hurts when applying to the sensitive eye area. I wish is was a lot softer.
The liquid eyeliner pen that I was using, is no longer available at any of the two stores by my house. So i tried this new one. As soon as I opened it, ink goes everywhere. For someone who finds liquid eyeliner easy to apply, this was more than difficult. As soon as it hits your skin, the ink expands and am unable to get a thin line. Good luck getting a straight line with this one!
UGH, I was completely obsessed with the old eyeliner pen, and then I found this. I have no idea what I'm supposed to accomplish with three tips, other than tightlining.. This thing is so difficult to apply it's not even worth it. AND as another reviewer said, the formula changed and my lids got so irritated they started to scab over and peel/flake. OW. Stick with the old pen!
Why aren't stores selling the Essential Waterproof Eyeliner Pen anymore?? That one is GREAT. The cap came off mine (happened a lot but I still loved it) and it dried out. Went to buy more and I can't find it anywhere. So I bought this and tried it out, it's horrible. I LOVE ELF but this is the worst product I've ever seen from elf.. Please bring back the old one into stores.
I bought this because I couldn't find the old eyeliner pen by E.L.F thinking it would be the same but when I first used it, it really hurt and scratched up my skin really bad. And I'm a makeup artist so I know how to apply eyeliner. This isn't even waterproof and it wears off so easily. It is very hard to use because of the 3 points it has. Take my advice and don't buy it!
I bought this eyeliner at the store, because it was waterproof and had previously tried the other waterproof liquid eyeliner pen and liked it so much. I must say, this one isn't as great as that one. It's hard to use, I'm able to apply it on one eye and then it dries out! Not to mention that the applicator is rough on the skin when applying. I will not get this one again.
