Mascara & Shadow Shield is rated 3.7115 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need this! This is a must have. You do have to get comfortable using the shield. My eyes look so much better since i don't have to use poweder under my eyes that define the fine lines. I love how easy to clean it is. My shadow looks better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this tool! Prevents shadow from falling onto cheeks. I also use this tool as a guide for applying darker shadow to the outer part of my eyes to help "lift" them. Really makes a difference and much easier to use than tape!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great idea! I use an E.L.F. black eye shadow for lining my upper eye lid and sometimes small 'crumb's of color fall onto my cheek and if you wipe your cheek the color smears and then you have a line of black on your face! lol So this guard works great!!! I'm so glad I bought it! Definitely need to wipe it clean after each use so you don't accidentally touch your cheek with fallen color on the guard and then have transfer color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great until... I used it once with great success, does what it's supposed to, affordably priced. A few days later I MOVED it, from one place on the counter to another, by the handle, and the head fell off. Tried to stick it back in, but the cheap glue still stuck to the silicone piece wouldn't allow for it. Gently tried to remove the glue to attempt again and the silicone bottom ripped clear off. At least it was only $3, but it's going to add up eventually if they're actually disposable! Would invest in a more expensive, higher quality version, but apparently ELF has this particular product market on lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for lower lashes!!! I understand we all make mistakes, but you should really learn how to apply mascara to the top lashes with minimal mistakes. This tool would be awkward to hold while IF you're sing for the top lashes. I, personally, use this tool for my lower lashes. My lower lashes are much much shorter than the top ones so it's easier to end up hitting right under the eye. This tool is perfect for that. Love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to use This product worked really well for me when I was applying eye shadow, but it was pretty difficult to apple mascara while using, which is why initially purchased it. At least it was cheap!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool to use when dyeing eyelashes Found this awkward to use when applying mascara, however it worked great for when I dye my eyelashes. The little papers that come with the eyelash dye kit are worthless and uncomfortable but this worked and is easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for shadows and mascara! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews but I absolutely love this little tool. I was only using it for mascara at first which is so perfect because I can wiggle my wand through my lashes and not have to worry about hitting my eyelid. This is my secret to separated and defined lashes. I just tried using it for shadows and was surprised at how well it worked. I always wipe away with a tissue after shadows but now I don't have to. Love this product but I guess it's not for everyone? I'm glad it works for me. :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works but doesn't I used this and found it a little hard to hold while applying make up. But the biggest draw back was after "catching" shadow from one eye, I flipped it over to use on my other eye, and all the shadow that was "caught" rubbed off under my other eye.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointed came with black hairs looks used just opened my package and found tiny long and black hairs on the shield, looked like it was used. at first i thought it could be hairs from a makeup brush but at a closer look it looked like long and short human eyelash/eyebrow hairs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I purchased this for mascara.... I couldn't get it to work for using with mascara. It's too thick/big. I have very long lashes so I couldn't even get it under my eye. I do not wear eye shadow, but this tool should be strictly used for eye shadow only. (Unless I'm doing something wrong!!)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did I buy this? I honestly don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to purchase this. The idea of it is a good one but realistically the product does not perform. The shield does not fit the shape of the eye in the slightest, so it is useless at catching fallout. Also, it makes it harder to do your makeup, as it takes up one of your hands and makes the process of applying eye makeup awkward. Honestly this product is not a necessary part of one's collection and after using this product twice I gave up on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mixing Tool I use this to mix different shade foundations (pour a little of each onto it) and swirl them together with my sponge, finger or brush as opposed to putting it on the back of my hand as I used to. I also use it to mix in moisturizer with foundation when my skin is a little dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High hopes;so-so results I just got mine in the mail, and was SUPER excited to use! I always have to touch up with a zillion Q-tips because I'm a mascara addict. The idea is wonderful, and that's why I was so excited, but it was really awkward to use. It slipped around, and didn't cover the entire under-eye for me. I'm white and have regular-shaped eyes (I think?) and I thought the cut out was just too round I guess. I'm going to keep practicing with it, but honestly cutting your eye shape out of an index card might work better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this tool! I'm always holding tissue under my eyes when I apply eyeshadow (especially the loose powder shadows), and I've tried numerous "mascara shields" but this little thing gets the job done. The shield part is a rubber material so it bends around your eye well. I've been looking for a product like this for many years, so thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Nice Product- Especially for Falsie-Wearers I've never had an interest in purchasing this, but it appeared mysteriously with my last order, and I couldn't resist using it. This is a silicone or elastomer tool that's a good deal floppier than I imagined it would be- but I like it!It is nice for those nights out when you can't risk a touch of mascara in your eye makeup, or want to apply in a hurry without worrying about ruining anything (and the shorter side is especially nice for those of us with long lower lashes).  I've found it has an unexpected benefit- keeping false eyelashes in place while applying mascara.I often wear individual falsies to work, because they're more natural-looking than strip lashes, but applying a finishing coat of mascara often means tugging at and displacing lashes. I can put this little gem over the roots of my falsies and apply a little mascara while this holds them in place. Thanks, ELF!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not necessary, better alternate use! The shield works for catching fall out eyeshadow but it's such a hassle to hold while you do your makeup with the other hand. Also, you need to clean it before you turn it over to do your other eye since the fallout eyeshadow will transfer on to your face if you don't. To clean it, you need to run it under water and dry it with a towel rather than a tissue because since it's made of a good rubbery material, the particles from a tissue will cling onto to shield. In terms of using it for it's intended purpose, it's alright, I expected more out of it, especially coming from the studio line. However, I find it much more useful as a pad I can mix my foundation or concealers on, so I use it for that instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECTION I just got this product the other day, and i had my doubts, for example, i didn't realize it was silicone and sometimes i have a very minor skin allergy to silicone, but i didn't have any issues with it. I couldn't be happier with this product! I use it because often when I apply mascara to my under eyelashes, i get a lot of excess on my skin. This totally cures the problem!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I use this under my eye lids to help catch eye shadow that falls and it works wonders! I hate my cheeks sparkling and this has really helped. Its a little weird at first but you get use to it it fast, Im actually going to be getting a few more to be sure I have them handy all the time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Great! I cannot believe this product doesn't have 5 stars! I LOVE this product. I didn't realize it was made of silicon when I ordered it. It fits perfectly under my eyes to protect me from getting eye shadow underneath my eyes. This is something I wish I had years ago. Another win for ELF :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE I purchased this right before I started college. It is amazing. I have always hated when my eye shadow would get on my cheeks or under my eyes. This is a really great product. I mean it is sooooo amazing! It takes a little bit of practice to apply your makeup and hold the shield at the same time but once you get the hang of it, you are good to go. I would highly recommend this. Plus, it is a great price!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Learn about the product I didn't realize it was silicon when I bought it, but that isn't really a problem. I bought it during 50% off Studio for my freelance kit because other similar products are more expensive, and I feel like tissue is a little unprofessional looking. If you watch the video it clearly shows that the product does not fit exactly under or over the eye which shouldn't be a problem if you are using it correctly. I think the base of the product should have been a solid plastic instead though to sturdy it up a bit. Otherwise it works pretty will. Mine did come with a few scratches though, and it can be annoying to clean because pigments stick to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this all the time! I don't use the handle because the silicon actually sticks onto your face. I just press it onto my cheek and it stays in place. Alot of negative reviews but this product works wonderfully if you use it right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Waste Your Money This product is NOT worth the money. It is not easily managed and does not fit under the eye correctly. It is better to just use tape for applying shadow, etc. I purchased this to put under the eye to catch shadow fallout. Well, it was a good idea, but a bad product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY NEW BABIE!!! <3 I always get mascara on my eyelids no matter what so this is totally a lifesaver for me!! SOOO excited, loving and absolutely so glad I ordered this finally! Biggest game changer. Helps separate lashes, makes sure i never get clumpy/mascara overload which becomes spidery looking lashes. Not the best quality because the top kind of came off when i pulled it out of the container the first time but no big deal. Saves me sooo much time I LOVE IT!!!! so simple but so neccessary! You'd be surprised! Must get!
