I bought the black one and I can't wait to order more!! As long as it's not kept cold and is kept at room tempterature, it goes on sooooo smoothly and once it dries it does not budge! My advice, put it in front of a low power blow dyer for a few seconds, it will go on like a gel. This is my go to eyeliner when I hit the gym, all that sweat it is still there when I finish, no running or smudging at least on my top eyelid. I found that it washes off pretty easily in water though. And when its extremely hot out, it does tend to smudge/run/bleed on my lower eyelid but so far I have yet to find an eyeliner that doesnt so this is amazing for only [$]!!
The black and brown colors are creamy, & darkly pigmented. They deserve 5 stars. Copper & Metallic Olive are a disaster. They are dry, crumbly and hard to work with. You cant fix them with water either. They are a completely different product. Punk purple, in the jar looks bright, but it goes on like a muted plumb. Horrible color payoff. Teal Tease is gorgeous, vibrant and creamy. Gold is creamy, and decent color pay off. I highly recommend Teal, Black, Brown & Gold. It's super easy to screw the lids on slightly askew and dry out your liner. Look at the jar from the side and make sure every thing is square before putting it away.
Easy to apply. The brush it comes with is good for travel purposes. I might purchase a slanted eyeliner brush for better application. Makes me feel beautiful!
The Black and Brown "Elf Cream Eyeliner" gets the job done, when it comes to easy application and strong pigment. Make sure to close product in between uses, due to drying over time.
I used this one or two times without it creasing onto my eyelid (with ELF primer) but after that, it would crease within an hour or two. (I have greasy eyelids and every other eyeliner in the world creases on me also.) I read many reviews before buying that it wouldn't do this. I wish it didn't! This was my first time using cream eyeliner so stupid me didn't put the lid on every time I was done with it and it dried out. Maybe that had something to do with it. I might buy it again to try with a very tightened lid! I use the waterproof eyeliner pen now w/ RAVE results, but would like to use this cream eyeliner because you get a ton of product.
I got this cream eyeliner a week ago and last night was the night i was going to finally use it.. i have to admit that i was very worried that it was going to wear off and make my make-up look bad... but i was WRONG! the eyeliner was easy to apply with the elf professional eyeliner brush. i wore MAC eyeshadow and put this cream liner on with it and it looked amazing!and when i woke up this morning my eyeshadow basically faded away but my EYELINER was still on... this works sooo good and i have to say the coffee color is a great color..everyone should buy this it is sooo worth the money.. i will prolly buy the black color real soon!! thanks elf
So I am a medium/dark skinned woman, and I have extremely thin eyebrows. I needed to find a product that was dark enough to create natural looking eyebrows but light enough to not look like I drew them on. This product in "Coffee" is perfect for it. A little bit goes an extremely long way, I've had mine for about 3 months and I've still got tons of product left after using it everyday. I apply with an angled eyeliner brush and I set it with elf's clear mascara and "Lock & Seal". I have really oily skin around my eyebrows and this combination keeps them in place as long as I need them. And it removes easy afterward. Lighter skin tones could use it too, just put a tiny amount on the brush. Hiiiiighly recommended.
I absolutely love this eyeliner. I'm in my thirties and have been using MAC carbon powder for my eyeliner for years. I recently heard about ELF on some youtube videos and was excited to find it at a local store. For the price I figured I couldn't go wrong even if I didn't like it. I was so surprised how easy it is to apply and I no longer have to deal with fall out of the powder after applying it. I use the brush it came with and its great. Goes on super black and lasts ALL DAY. Even with my super oily skin. I do use Urban Decay eye primer and I haven't tried the liner without it but I do know it works great and I will keep buying this product.
I bought this in 'Gunmetal' because I have a gang load of black eyeliners, and thought it might be nice to have a grey one for more "natural" looks, or just a bit of definition on "no makeup" days. I am sadly disappointed with this. The pot is tiny, but I guess I cant be too upset about that for considering it was very affordable. However, the pigmentation is very poor. I will not be using this as a liner. I will use it as an eyeshadow base on occasion. I have oily skin, especially on my eyelids. So, I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer. Hopefully that will help it retain the tiny bit of color it does have. I wont repurchase this again.
I received this cream eyeliner in Plum Purple and the Small Angled Brush in my last order. I've never used cream eyeliner before so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I can't envision any other cream liner being better than this. This is so creamy, but once you apply it, it is there to stay. I put it on between 6:30 and 7:00am, and when I go to take it off at about 9:00pm, it's still going strong. The brush that comes with it is okay but the Small Angled Brush is so wonderful. It's a lot easier for me to hold and it applies the liner perfectly. I will definitely be purchasing more of these cream eyeliners in the future. Thank you, ELF!
I have this eyeliner in Brown and Copper. It's almost like they are two completely different products! I think I may have just gotten a bad Copper. The Brown is wonderful! Smooth, long lasting, good pigment. I even like the little brush that's included! The Copper is awful. It's not really what I would consider copper colored. More of a slightly shimmery brown. The product is over dry and clumpy. I can actually turn the jar upside down and the product comes out in one clump... This is what leads me to believe I just got a bad egg. I do love the Brown and will order again in other colors. I'll send it back if it ends up like the copper. ;)
I got this in black and ivory, I wanted to replace using an eyeliner pencil and thought these would do the trick. I've got to say that these work pretty well, the black one is creamy and goes on my water line easily, but after so many hours(more like six or seven) it starts to wear off, and the ivory is more of a dry formula, but it goes on my water line and stays all day, it's not very noticeable though you really have to pack it on to make it noticeable, but when put on my water line it works pretty well :) I haven't used these on my upper lash line because I have so many liquid liners for that but these work good and will definitely repurchase
I would buy this again, I have 4 different colors and plan to buy more!
I'm a professional Makeup/Hair artist. I LOVE ELF and I try to buy all of their new studio products to test out for my kit and to review for my YouTube channel. Their studio line has some AWESOME products that are ridiculously cheap for how awesome they are. This is one of those products. It's good! AND for [$]... can't beat it! I find the packaging of these better than the cream eyeshadow- but it's pretty much the same product. The liner is more pigmented and I love to use it as a cream eyeshadow- or as part of creating a smokey eye- using it as a base. I haven't used it as a liner. I think it would move and fade too much for my taste.
I have this product in both the black and plum purple, as I wear a lot of purples for eyeshadow. Overall, it is a wonderful product. It glides on smoothly onto my lash line, with a deep dark pigment you just can't find in a stick. I use it smudgy in the first place, but it does bleed down a tad throughout the day, especially if it's warm. That is my only complaint, and I just carry a q-tip in my bag and touch it up halfway through the day! Also, over time the pot dries out a tad and the eyeliner will crack, so I just run my brush under water and squeeze out the excess before applying- works great for a sultry, smudged and smokey look!
I didn't know what to expect from a cream eyeliner since I've only used pencil liners, liquid liners, and gel liners. I absolutely love the cream eyeliner. It dries quickly adn does not fade easily. I tried using [@] generic eye make up remover to remove the liner at the end of the day, and it would not budge! I had to use my clinique make up remover to take it off. It does not smear and gives you a sleek and sophisticated look. I was very impress :) I bought this in black and ivory. I see complaints of ivory not being pigmented, but it worked wonders on my waterline and opened up my eyes beautifully. This is probably my favorite Studio Line product.
I had to recently give up my expensive-brand (rhymes with "sack") black cream eyeliner, so I thought I'd try ELF's black, and I am not complaining! Luckily I have a great brush to use with this (which you need for any kind of cream eyeliner.) It goes on smooth, and the pigment is good, though I did apply two layers on each eye to make sure it stayed on because it wasn't quite as strong as my old stuff. However, my old stuff was used for theatrical performances, and was too much for daily use. This is perfect for real-life wear. It can wear off a BIT at the end of the day without a primer, but not that much if unless your skin is oily.
I am a huge ELF fan,and have at least 50 other products from here. So I and ordered 3 colors (coffee, plum and gunmetal) because I am a huge gel eyeliner junkie and needed a cheaper alternative, with out a doubt in my mind these would be great. These all were awful! Coffee and Plum were greasy, and oily, to the point where it was basically dripping off my brush. Gunmetal was a completely different story. It was completely dry and flaked into my eye when I tried to apply it! Not great when it sticks onto your contacts! I tried to re-hydrate it, but with no luck! I totally regret buying this, and will never wear it outside my bathroom!
I just adore this eyeliner!!! Just lovely... runs easy! the black it's sharp! Nothing bad to say!!! The small brush it's nice and if you want a thinner line you should pick other brush from your collection because it's easy to apply a heavy coat with a small brush as given with the liner. Ultra pigmented! soft. Better than many expensive brands that you can find in drug store or famous brands. Even better than mac in my opinion because mac it's so tick that it's clump to apply. You can buy it because I am 100% sure you will be very happy with this eyeliner. Lasted forever when I used with the elf lock & seal. PERFECT COMBO! 5 Stars product! Excellent.
This stuff is just great! I've used several gel/cream eyeliners from other high end brands, & I must say that this one works just as well, if not better. I decided to order from ELF when my other cream liner started drying out, & I have no regrets whatsoever! It is very long-lasting for the most part, but there have been a few occasions in which the liner has smudged. But if you use an eyelid primer before applying, that should fix the problem. Overall, this product has everything I'm looking for in a good eyeliner; it's easy to work with, long-lasting, & five times cheaper than high end cream liners. What more could you ask for? :]
I bought the black and coffee liners. These are the first cream liners that I have tried. My lids tend to be a bit oily so I use an eyelid primer when I use these and don't really have any problems with the liner smudging, though I have noticed some slight flaking. The black has a really nice pigmentation and goes on really smooth. The coffee liner is just as smooth and easy to apply, but lacks a bit of pigment. I normally use the coffee for day and the black for night. I would buy these again and possibly try other colors. Oh, I got these before they came with brushes and I use and angled liner brush to apply and have good results.
I got this in metallic olive, and am now back for the copper, purple and gunmetal. In my earlier review I had this for only one day. I've now used this all week, and it does not smear, flake or fade. This morning, it looks just like it did 18 hours ago. After applying the line, what's left on the brush can be used in the outer crease for a smoky eye effect. The only other thing I needed to use was a light complementing shadow for the inner corner of my eyes. After wearing makeup for 30 years, I've finally found a product that works, is inexpensive, and doesn't have to be blended, sharpened, twisted, wetted or put on with my fingers.
This liner is the creamiest liner I've come across. It has amazing staying power, and as long as you use the right product, you can get it off quite easily. (I use baby oil gel and let it sit for at least a minute before officially wiping the product from my eyes.) The little brush it comes with is adorable, and is definitely a great quality of brush, which is not what I was expecting. All in all, I can tell you right now that this will be one of the best purchases for your money. *However, I definitely advise people who don't have a lot of control over a brush to practice first, because with this eyeliner, once it's on, IT'S ON.
Reading through some of the reviews I'm a little confused. I read a lot of them talking about smudging and running. With previous eyeliners I've had the problem of a dark shadow under my lower lid after a few hours and constantly having to wipe them. With this cream eyeliner it lasted and stayed. I mean stayed, until the next day. My review was going to suggest getting some of their eye makeup removal pads because none of my products at home worked to get it off. *overall* I was very happy with it. It looks great and lasts all day for me. It is hard to get it completely off, but I still plan to use it everyday and buy it again :)
I'm only reviewing the Black since I don't have any other shade (sadly). Smooth and easy to apply, but not extra creamy and might be harder than some to get a super smooth application. Jar stays smooth for a good amount of time. An intense black that stays on for a long time. I would use it on hot days because for me it's either a cream liner or liquid, and on a hot day a liquid would melt right off. I use an angled liner brush, that works like a charm with this. I noticed the little brush it comes with is good for beginners, but the bristles are too thick and too long to get a precise, thin, crisp line, but I wouldn't blame the product because of a brush.
This product is my FAVORITE the price is so affordable, but if I didn't know better and someone where to tell me it was pricey I would believe it. It glides on easily, the brush it comes with works, and it STAYS ON! I have been looking for a product like this for a long time my eyelids are supper greasy so almost everything i put on leeks down and gives me raccoon eyes. But this product worked for me! One thing is you have to let it dry before you touch it sorta like liquid eyeliner. But after it drys it stayed on me all day long! I cant say more about how much I adore this product. And I usually don't leave reviews but it was way to exciting to not share.
After using other, more expensive, cream liners that left me underwhelmed, I decided to try e.l.f.'s cream liner without any major expectations at all. I figured that if I was gonna buy a liner that ended up being lame, at least I wouldn't feel robbed. Needless to say, I am SO IMPRESSED with this product. I bought it about 2 months ago and I use it EVERY DAY!! It never dries out, its always creamy, its really easy to apply and it stays on all day. I am in love. I can't believe that other higher end brands don't hold up as well as this one does. As a matter of fact, as soon as I finish typing this review, I'm gonna order another!
oh my. where shall I start? well, for starters, it comes with the little applicator and never have I seen/ had a cheaper product. the bristles were flimsy, it fell apart within the first day, and it did not apply the product at all. I bought the purple, gold, brown, and black eyeliner and I was so disappointed. maybe if you used a different brush, the results would have been better but I highly doubt that. this product was one of the worst that ive purchased from this site. I should also mention that the second day I used this product, THE EYELINER CAME OUT OF THE PACKAGING. the whole round thing CAME OUT and then split into quarters. ugh. thank goodness it was cheapish, but I will definitely not be purchasing this ever again and I don't see why anyone would buy it anyway.
This is the greatest. I was planning on buying bobbi brown gel eyeliner, and I bought this to practice applying it. I never did end up buying that expensive liner. I use a thinner eyeliner brush because the brush that comes with it is a little too small, but other than that it's perfect. It doesn't dry out when I leave the cap off. I can get the perfect amount of eyeliner just by dabbing the tip of the brush in. I can get a perfect wing, the kind that's difficult to get on the first try with liquid liner. It lasts throughout the whole day for me. It's definitely worth [$] considering how expensive other good gel eyeliners are.
I am a huge fan of this product. I have always kept wet-n-wild gel liner in my kit and rarely strayed from it but elf has replaced it (or at least added to it) in this category. I waited a little while after purchasing it to write this review because I wanted to see how it held up in the container, long term and I'm glad to say it hasn't dried out all of these months later I am happy with the little brush that it comes with for various ways of application and have used other brushes as well. Winged liner, a thin lash line for definition, even applied with falsies, I can't recommend this enough!! Purchased in brown and black.
