Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I bought this to try it out, since it was only a dollar. The quality matched the price, as right as I took it out of its packaging, a couple of hairs shed off. A bunch more shed off later. It was also scratchy and not as dense or stiff as I hoped. I don't use this brush and would probably only use it in some dire emergency where I don't even have the powder sponge that comes with the powder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The brush is great but it broke... I bought this brush a few months ago and I thought it would be great to use for all over my face. Unfortunately, the brush broke and it was no longer connected to the bottom of the brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repeatedly reliable I have purchased this brush every time I have replaced my makeup brushes since I found this brush. It beats any brush that comes with a makeup product, and it is very worth the value. Since it is sanitary to replace your brushes often, I get to with this brush. I rarely have ever had shedding issues, and it gives me an air-brushed look if I choose the right makeup to apply  (I usually am using this brush with my setting powder). It is great for blending also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend I purchased this brush and threw it away (I got it for .50 when the whole website was 50% off). I am happy with everything else that I ordered except this brush! I took it out of the packaging and right away knew it's not a good brush. I literally kept pulling out hairs from the brush and finally just threw it in the trash. None of the $3 line of brushes did this that I purchased. I was bummed about this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken! I purchased 5-6 E.L.F. Essential brushes and I REGRET IT. The metal part breaks off the wooden base. It could be fixed with a little glue but I shouldn't need to glue my brushes. They also shed like crazy when applying makeup. I went back and purchased the studio brush line- they are PERF. The studio brushes are softer and high quality. They're worth the extra $2!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I never use it I got this in a free kit a couple months ago.  The bristles aren't soft and the red color comes out when you wash it, but my biggest problem is the size.  It's way too big and awkward for me to even use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! It is so rough on skin and when you wash it for the first time the colour comes out which makes the water all red. Imagine that on your face. Ew...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL First off its rough! Not soft at all! Then if you wash it the brush smells like a wet dog!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get the Studio Brush instead! The only time I would buy this again is if I was desperate and every other brush in the world vanished.  It is very rough, not soft at all, it sheds like crazy, and my handle came apart.  I do not recommend this product, but instead I do recommend the Studio Line brushes that e.l.f. has.  Check those out before buying this one!  There is such an obvious difference in the quality and the Studio line is only $2 more.  Look up a coupon code online and you can get them for about the same price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Upgrade to Studio I bought this at Dollarama because I love this brand and I desperately needed a brush. This was very harsh on my face, it was so rough. Those with sensitive skin should stay away. Though it did dispense the powder just fine, it just felt like he handle was going to break off. It also shed to the point where bristles were left on my face. At $1, I cannot complain, but that dollar can be put towards the wonderful Studio Brushes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost like a stick kabuki I received a lot of E.L.F brushes for my birthday and received this it is great for stippling on your powder! I haven't noticed any of the dye come out and it hasn't shed! I love the sturdy handle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ehh i love all of elf brushes except this one. it sheds a lot and its not the softest thing to put on your face, but then again you can't really complain since it was only a dollar. not a brush to go back to. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for now I have bought multiple brushes from this line.  They do shed a lot at first but after a couple times of use it seems to stop.  This particular brush still sheds a bit but it gets the job done.  And you can't really beat the price.  I'll just go for a different face brush next time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken bristles I bought this brush a little while ago, thinking that it would be a decent brush.  Sure I only paid a very small amount for it, however , I was used to paying very little for items from elf.  When I started to use the brush I would find stray pieces of hair on my face.  T first I thought that I must have done something wrong to the brush.   This kept happening.  I washed it gently,  but it just got worse. The bristles would be broken in pieces.  Finally I gave up.  I decided it was a lost cause.  No more of this line of brushes for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Bad I bought this like a week ago and thought one dollar was not bad. I gave it a try and was pleased with the results.I have not had the bristles fall out yet and the brush is fairly made. I mostly use this brush for my Malani Blush and will soon use for my pressed powder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Miss I received the entire line of essential brushes free through a promo code a while ago. I tried to give this one a fair shake, but it was a miss. When I first washed it, the bristles were so long they got a little tangled and I had to comb it out after. The bristles are a little on the rough side but not horrible. My biggest complaint it how large it is. I know it's suppose to be 'total face' but it's just too big for powder or anything really. I would recommend the studio kabuki over this brush for 'total face'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from literally worst brush I bought this a few months ago for a dance recital to buff out all my makeup, for 1$ this is a okay brush, after all it is only one dollar, but this brush has hard bristles and is an unpleasant red color and so much bristle fallout!! e.l.f usually has wonderful great cheap products, but this one needs to be discontinued.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok... I bought this at target and I washed it once and let it dry. It was very hard and not soft anymore. It's not bad for a $1.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than it gets credit for I got this brush about a week ago, and only then did I read all the terrible reviews. I was going to return this and than I thought why not, it was only a dollar, I'll give it a try. I'm proud to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this brush, and I haven't had any bristles fall out yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ehh It's ok. it does a good job of applying the powder, however, the bristels hurt!! its like a porkipine rubing on your face!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this brush! This brush id great for powder and blush. I see that many people have had issues with this brush. The brush for me wasn't super duper soft but it was definitely not ruff on my skin. For a $1 this definitely will be my go to powder, bronzer, and blush brush. This brush has had no fall out for me either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE!! POORLY MADE AND DESIGNED Out of all their brushes, I have to say this has to be the WORST brush designed. It is very coarse and the hair falls off as soon as you take it out of the package. Not only that, but the entire brush is already starting to wiggle out. When I washed my brush after using it only ONCE, the hair clumped together and now it is a complete mess. All of the other brushes I purchased was just fine, but this was terrible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done! First off you can't expect an amazing makeup brush that only costs a dollar. For what  I paid the brush works fine. It does leave some bristles on my face but it doesn't effect how the makeup is applied, or looks afterwards. I just simply pick the couple of bristles off my face. I don't recommend washing the brush in hot water because the glue will loosen causing the brush to break away from the wand. I would clean it with brush cleaning spray and lightly rub it against a rag or napkin. All together the brush applies makeup well and leaves a few bristles behind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh This brush is available at my local dollar store, usually the elf products there are sold out, not this one. And I know why. This brush has scratchy hard bristles, when you swirl it in powder all it does is scratch up the powder and doesn't transfer to the brush, yes it is only $1 BUT some of the other $1 elf products are actually decent. This is definitely not the greatest brush elf has made. I gave it to my sister to paint with. Also, the bristles fall out like CRAZYYYYY.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I just can't get it to work well. I purchased this about a week ago, and I cannot for the life of me get this brush to do anything worthwhile in my makeup routine.  It does not work as an all-over foundation powder brush, nor as a blush brush, nor as a highlighter brush.  I did get some "success" with bronzer, but only because I use the absolute smallest amount in the first place, and really any brush could handle the job.  Also, it is very scratchy no matter what I do.  The bristles are too long and floppy as well; I have no control over the product.  Fortunately, it was just $1, so I can keep this on hand for my minute-bronzer-dusting so I don't have to throw it away.  The handle of the brush is nice at least - if they, at the very least, shortened the bristles, this is something I could have worked with, scratchiness aside.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hate this brush! I bought this about a month ago and it is terrible. It is so rough and scratchy! It does not even work for powders or liquids or anything. Also, it smells awful. It literally smells like a horse. I love all my other ELF brushes but this one is TERRIBLE! I am throwing it away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! This is my first brush and i'm happy about it, it even outs everything! The only thing is that it sheds a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I understand that for a brush with this price, i shouldn't expect too much. However, i didn't know it could be so poor in quality. I just got the brush from my parcel, before I started using it, it started shedding already quite a lot. Then I tried to wash it before I use it, oh my good it shed even more. The hair are poorly made and put together. I am disappointed with the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I got this a week or two ago and my friend had warned me that it wasn't very soft, she was right... I just use it for cream foundation, hers had fallen apart in under a week, not the best elf...
