The colour gloss looks pretty and it works well as an everyday gloss. I find that the clear gloss is more useful because you can either wear it alone to moisturize your lips, wear it with the gloss, or you can use it with other products to create special looks. Here is an example: 1. Use a layer of lip balm to keep your lips moisturized. 2. Apply a layer of the minty gloss on top of the balm. For some reason, the plumping gloss makes your lipstick easier to apply evenly. 3. For a hint of color, apply a layer of lipstick over the mint gloss. 4. For extra shine, apply a layer of clear gloss. This look would work great for special occasions, such as graduations, parties, prom night, dates, and any other time you want to look extra special.
This was one of the first products I ever bought from ELF and I have been obsessed ever since! I have it in colors Baby Doll (this is my third bottle) and Fire Coral. Baby Doll is the perfect shade of soft pink for my fair skin. And though Fire Coral is new to me, I like it a lot as well. It's almost just a darker tone to baby doll, it doesn't scream coral to me. The matter of it plumping your lips, I tend to see results. I think plumpers take longer to work than they advertise...I'll notice nothing at first but then I will hours and hours later. I think this product plumps as well as anything comparable. I will definitely be repurchasing. BUY BUY BUY!
I purchased this gloss in the colors "baby doll" and "fuschia fanatic". I must say that I think the color fuschia fanatic is a really bright pretty color! It's really fun, and kind of a deep bright pink on me so I'd probably wear it more going out. However, baby doll didn't really show up on me at all. I was hoping for more of a soft pink but it looked almost clear. As for the plumping part of the gloss... I didn't really see much difference. You can smell the mint flavoring in it pretty strongly though which is nice. It's another super sticky gloss and can wear off kind of easily so you'd really have to keep some on hand with you.
I ordered Mocha Ice and I have to say, for someone who has light-medium skin, this is the prettiest color for a subtle lip color. These lip glosses, in general, are best for every day wear or going to a casual night out. Also, the white part, the part that's supposed to plump your lips (in which I didn't notice a change in), leaves a slight tingling feeling. It doesn't burn at all! It's merely just a quick tingle that feels great in cold weather! The only thing I wish E.L.F would do is make a bigger version of this but obviously make it more expensive. All in all this is a great produce, and I urge everyone to buy at least one!!
I really wanted to like this stuff. Here I'll just give you a simple list of the pros and cons. PROS: *The plumper is pretty good, I was surprised. *If you LIKE a really really, EXTREMELY sheer color, this would be nice for you. *The plumper helps freshen your breath! CONS: *This stuff gooped up on random parts of my lips and left huge globs. *The lip plumper smells like ben gay, and tastes funny. *I was expecting at least a little color payoff with the lip colors, but got an unnoticable amount. *There is such a small amount in the tube! *The gloss is very sticky. My video has my full review and the swatches of Fuchsia Fanatic, Peach Passion, and Fire Coral.
I bought Plum Pout and Mauve Berry. The Plum is great, but the Mauve Berry is a bit light for my taste. I have light skin, but darker lips and like lips that stand out. The plum fit the bill. The Mauve matched my natural lip color exactly, so it didn't give me the "look at my lips" effect I'm used to. That's just my style though. The shine is great, and it did moisturize my lips. I tend to use a lot of chapstick, and the gloss stayed even when I put chapstick over the top. I didn't mind the taste. I'd buy it again. I thought the color lasted OK, but I'm used to re-applying lipstick every few hours or after eating or drinking.
I think this is a great gloss, but the whole mint scent just ruins it. It barely even smells like mint, more like cough syrup as other reviewers have compared. It would be so great with any other scent. But, it's bearable only because the gloss is so great. If you put a fruity lip balm underneath the gloss, it's a little bit better. As for the actual gloss, i love the name that they chose for this; a 'glaze.' I think that a glaze really does suit this because its like it melts into your lips creating a perfect finish. It doesn't necessarily "plump" your lips, but no gloss actually does. Overall, still a really great product!
I read the alright reviews online and heard okay comments about this product from my friends. I thought it was okay to purchase this product and give it a try since it is just [...]. I bought the baby doll along with the mocha ice and applied the baby doll one first. It was refreshing with the minty sensation on my lips but the bad part about it is that it wears off easily. I had to apply more than once to get the color show on my lips which was annoying. If you're a person who just likes the minty sensation on your lips and likes to reapply it constantly then I would recommend it to you but other than that, no I would not.
Ok, I had done a review of this the 1st day I got it. The reason I'm redoing a review on this product is because I figured out how to use it to actually make it "plump" my lips. The way I used to use it, and i think many people do this, put on the White part and then put on the Color part. It has no plumping action. Later I put on the white part. Forgot about it until the tingling went away. Went bk and put on the color part. 2 mins later, BAM! Plumping action! Basically you have to wait a little in between both applications for it to work right in my experience. It does stay on through eating. Not as glossy afterward but the color is still there. Give it a try!
This product seemed average to me. I have olive skin and purchased Baby Doll, Champagne, and Oasis. Baby Doll is A LOT more hot pink than the baby pink shown online. Champagne is a lot more brown than shown online. Oasis is a lot deeper with more rose tones than shown online. Each gloss has more shimmer than shown online, but the gloss still feels smooth on lips (no gritty glitter feeling). I did notice mild stinging ("plumping affect") with the colored gloss, but when I applied the clear gloss my lips really started stinging. The clear gloss is sort of menthol smelling. I'm very sensitive to scented lip products, but the menthol smell was not overpowering. The plumping is also very mild and only lasts a short while. Also, there is a very small amount of gloss in each tube.
I've never used lip plumper before because my friends tell me it hurts. It doesn't. I actually really love the feeling. I'm not sure if this plumps very well, I can't see much of a difference, but sometimes I just put this on for the tingly feeling. Baby doll is a cute color. It's light pinkish, doesn't do too much to your lip color but add a little glossy shimmer. I just noticed looking close up that it has little sparkles. I love this. I'm always happy to have a little sparkle in my lip gloss. The gloss smells like methanol, and it's a little overwhelming. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Overall, baby doll gives lips a soft, pink look... like baby doll lips!
This stuff does work, but it doesn't work for long periods of time. The color will stay on for hours, which is nice, because big brand lip glosses sometimes won't. But the plumping effect is very temporary and if you use it too often, your lips will get used to the shock of it and stop plumping. I use this stuff pretty often, not for the plumping efect but for the colors, because the application is easy, it's not sticky and heavy and it's very shiny. I own all of the colors, but Oasis and baby Doll are my favorites. Ruby Kiss is too red for me, and Mocha Ice wasn't a very nice color either, I only used it once. It's definetly worth a try, but what on the site isn't?
I own this in Mocha Ice. First, to let you know, the color of Mocha Ice shown on the website is a purple-y pink color, when it is not that shade in real life. So be careful when choosing a color. It also does not plump, only gives your lips a tingly feeling with the clear side. Other than that, this is a great gloss for the price. You can use the colored side on its own for a dramatic glossy look, or use the clear side on top of it for a more sheer, natural look. Mocha Ice is a warm reddish brown, but it's not bright or dark. I have fair skin, and this would look natural on me if I had warm undertones, which I do not.
I was really excited to get this but i am somewhat dissappointed..I ordered mine in champagne, and there is little to no color pay off. The scent isn't all that great, and it doesn't plump your lips at all but for the price this is an okay product. the color is absolutely beautiful in the tube but i was hoping that it would show up on my lips. However, it is very shiny, shimmery and pretty so it's not such a big deal that its extremely sheer i suppose. I probably will repurchase, but deffinately in a darker color next time. By the way, anyone interested in Champagne, it is more of a nude-bronze color in person.
I really wanted to love this! I don't know if it plumped my already plump lips, and the tingle felt great, but two big problems here: First, the shade was a disappointing washout that went on messy and required a lot of product to get good color (Fire Coral). On top of the light layer of plumper, it was just too gunky. Secondly, the plumping ingredients dried and irritated my lips after the first day of use, causing them to flake and crack painfully deep. I had to revert to a few days of balm to restore them. A minor detail is that the printing on the tube disappeared the first day, too. Weird. Luckily I'm in love with ELF's Liquid Lipstick, and just ordered five more tubes!
I purchased the Baby Doll and the Fuchsia and I like them both. The pigmentation is good, and I love how the plumper side makes your lips tingle. I don't really see that it enlarged my lips, but it's alright. Staying power is meh, but most glosses never last on lips that long anyway. I wish it came in a larger than this size, for I doubt it will last long in the packaging it's in now.
I was really pleasantly surprised by this lip gloss. I got the Plum Pout color, and it's just about the most perfect color for me. I don't know if every color is this good, but the Plum Pout is excellent. I like the mild minty feeling, and the gloss isn't too sticky (all glosses are a little sticky, right?). It doesn't seem to plump my lips, but I have tried much stronger plumping glosses, and those don't really plump either. The color is sheer enough for day wear, and might be a little too sheer for dramatic looks. The only downsides I have are that it doesn't last very long, and it smells a little weird (a faint ashtray smell). I'll definitely try other colors of this gloss.
I love this for everyday wear. The colors look pretty true to color compared to what is presented online. However, when you put it on, it blends more and brings about a more natural lip color. Which I LOVE! I hate wearing regular lipstick because I have dry lips and it looks kind of clumpy/caked. A lot of lip glosses feel real thick and sticky. But, I love the tingle sensation from this. I'm also not big on lots of color on my lips and love that it enhances a natural lip color and is not overwhelming. Since it is a gloss, it provides shine without being too shiny, if that makes sense. Definitely recommend!
Usually I don't use plumping lip glosses but I'd figure I would give it a try. I ordered Oasis and Baby Doll and now regret it a little because I wish I would've gotten more different colors. Baby Doll is lighter than Oasis and very cute but I feel like the color pay off isn't enough to really differentiate between the two and they are very sheer. I do like, however, the shimmer both of the glosses give. The thing is, these are lip plumping glosses that don't plump as well as they should, if at all. It doesn't sting like some others do, but it also doesn't plump too well. For the money I don't mind but I don't think I"ll get another one of these from elf until someone recommends it.
These cute pluming lip glaze from elf are so natural and have that beautiful nude to lips color not to harsh at all, just a soft gental color of radients to the lips, like if the sun just gave you a kiss on your lips. it has that super sweet minty taste to it, it's perfect for a on the work day or a night out.& yes since my lips are small to me they plumped the right size of lips for me, i have tons of elf products from their Studio line, Mineral Line & now Essential line. elf always superise me with all there makeup collection, is like they have the right makeup collection for anyone to pick from.
I would have given this 3.5 stars if I could. It's not terrible, but it's not as good as some of their other products. The color comes on lighter than it looks and is a little different than what I saw on-line. (I got the Plum Pout and it has more deep red in it than I thought from the picture.) The plumper feels nice and not too sticky, and the gloss is pretty decent but has a slightly unpleasant aftertaste on the lips. However the taste isn't so bad as to prevent me from wearing it-it's so slight I doubt many others will notice. So overall a good, solid product for the price, but nothing amazing.
I have an medium, olive-based skin tone and my lips are kind of dark on their own already. But I looove the colors Plum Pout (for a subtle kind of color, since it matches my lip color, great for everyday) and Champagne (great for a beach-y bronze kind of look... use with bronzer and it'll look great). The others I have are Oasis, Fire Coral, and Baby Doll, which are all pink and look kind of the same to me, except Oasis is darker than it looks on the site and very metallic. They're all decent colors, but dont' stand out much to me. You could also use the clear plumping glaze on its own and it works great too! Overall, great gloss great price. Oh yeah and there's a nice tingly sensation.
Just to clarify something to begin with, for all those reviews that say "yes it made my lips tingle but did not plump my lips like other expensive brands" you are wrong!! anytime you feel that tingling feeling it means the blood is rushing to your lips, thats how it works. So yes, the plumping side does work great! However the color was not the same as in the picture. I ordered the champagne and expected a pretty almost tan-nude with shimmer but it was more like a dark gold. It's not a major disapointment for the cost though, I just use the plumper with a different colored lip gloss or lip stick.
I just got this in the mail yesterday and was very anxious to try it out. It was very tingly, but definitely didnt plump my lips. ..Not a big shocker, but I couldnt help but be disappointed. My other problem was that the color was barely visable and the scent wasnt very pleasant. I was hoping for more of a fruity scent and it turned out to be more of a menthol smell. It was quite tacky feeling on my lips, but it didnt stay on for a long time and looked nice in lights. Very glossy. I doubt my boyfriend would want to kiss me while I am wearing it though...it doesnt feel silky like a lipgloss.
Had these for a while now, and I love them. I have three colors, and unfortunately, I can't tell which ones I have from the pictures online. As I've found with a lot of ELF's products, the online swatches are totally inacurate. One of them is (I think) Oasis, but it's a tad lighter. I'm guessing the other two are Ruby Kiss and Plum Pout since those are the closest to the actual colors. If I'm right, Ruby Kiss is actually a much brighter red. Plum Pout is a lot like what Ruby Kiss looks like online, but it's lighter and has more of a brown undertone than purple. I attatched a picture of Ruby Kiss—that's the only one I have with me at the moment. The plumping side works just a tad, not too noticably though. I mainly use it because it makes my lips tingle which feels nice, and it tastes good. The color pay off isn't that great, but it's pretty good for a lip gloss. I wish they made bigger sizes of these, even if it is a few extra bucks!
I like this gloss! I'm not sure if it really does much plumping, but I do like the mint flavor and tingling sensation. I LOVE how smooth it feels on my lips...some glosses feel a little "gritty" for lack of a better word (maybe it's the glitter/shimmer in them) but this one is seriously the smoothest I've ever used--expensive or otherwise! The only thing I'd say is that the color could be a little more opaque. I tried baby doll and champagne, and baby doll had a little color...champagne didn't seem to have any color, just sparkle. I'll still use them up, but might try other colors next.
I finally got the urge to purchase Plum Pout and very happy I did and also purchased Peach Passion (not so happy with). Peach Passion didn't add any colour whatsoever but maybe for someone whose natural lip colour isn't as dark as mine. But, its a very pretty colour in the tube and it's too bad because I was hoping this would turn out peachy but did not. Very sad.:(.And it's interesting. The Hypershine Gloss in Blossom is a very close shade to Peach Passion but has a better colour payoff so I keep ordering that one because I love the colour it adds to my lips. Hmmm.... Now, Plum Pout is a beautiful opposite. It's very moisturizing and silky and leaves a rich tint on my lips-another reorder for sure!
I received my order today and was soo happy to get it. I tried the Plumping Lip Gloss in Oasis and its certainly not the swatch colour as displayed on the website. It on me looks like the Hypershine Gloss in Pink Lemonade with a tinge of glitter added. On the website, Oasis looks like a peachy-pink mix but its not like that when you actually get it.It doesn't plump my lips but it does give a strong tingle sensation on the lips. Not too bothersome which is acceptable. It is a pretty colour though. I heard that Baby Doll is a must so next order I'll order that. If anyone has tried Champagne, I would love to know how it turned out on the lips. Whether its more of a bronze colour or if its maybe lighter.
Firstly, if you're only looking at this product for a plumping effect, shut the door because this does not plump. Tingles, but doesn't really do much to plump. I love the tingling sensation, it's quite fun to put on. Personally, I don't want to plump my lips so it worked out well for me. I love the color, Ruby Kiss. It's buildable, the color, so that it can be subtle or boldbold red. What you do is put the clear gloss on first. (I dab a few dots and rub my lips together...too much of the clear gloss can burrrrn. haha) Then add as much of the colored gloss to your lips and you're done. :) Easy to apply too. Highly recommend this gloss versus a few of elf's others. ^_^ I'm definitely buying more colors.
I got this today, and was anxious and nervous to try it - I've never used a plumping anything before, and I've heard that it can burn. This doesn't burn. This feels amazing on my lips - pleasant, tingly, and honestly I think it smells amazing. It kind of reminds me of Vick's Vapor Rub. It was shiny and made a noticeable difference on my lips. I have to admit, it isn't very pigmented; I ordered Fire Coral, and it looked super colorful in the tube, but on my lips it's just a slight tint, which looks really good on my lips. I'll definitely be ordering more, probably in different colors.
